Holiday World Show in Ireland 2012

With Christmas over and with the winter passing by quickly, a lot of people will be starting to think about planning holidays for the Spring and Summer. Several travel shows pop up in the first few months of the year both in Ireland and across Europe to satisfy this consumer demand and in Ireland, the ‘Holiday World Show’ is one of the best travel shows. This year’s 2012 show starts in Belfast tomorrow (20th to 22nd January) and then moves down to Dublin next weekend (27th to 29th January).

The Holiday World Show in Ireland showcases holiday destinations worldwide, although of course, destinations in Ireland are heavily promoted and this show is great for learning about places to travel and see in Ireland. The show brings together some interesting and a wide variety of exhibitors, with those attending set to include the Vienna Tourist Board, Maldron Hotel Limerick, the Birds of Prey Centre, the Frank McCourt Museum and the Kenya Tourist Board. The show seems to be made up of roughly 40% of Irish based travel companies and 60% from non-Irish based businesses.

The variety of travel types covered at the show is also wide. Aside from the classic beach holiday and city break, you can learn about opportunities in Ireland and worldwide for caravan and motorhome travel (with a special section at the show dedicated to this form of travel), over 55’s holidays, adventure holidays, cruises and volunteering holidays. If you love to travel, this show will have something of interest.

The format of the show is split into 9 regions so people can find exactly what they are looking for with minimum fuss. The sections are Adventure travel, cruises and ferries, home holidays, caravans and motorhomes, and destination specific sections on Africa and Middle East, Caribbean, Asia and the Pacific, the Americas and Europe and the Mediterranean. There is also Eoghan Corry’s Travel Clinic, sharing expert advice on how to have the best possible holiday for the best possible price. You can learn more about the show from the official Holiday World Show website.

SHOWCASE IRELAND 2012 show

There are some big shows in the annual Irish Exhibitions calendar, but none more so than the annual Showcase Ireland show and the good news is that the show is now but days away. Make sure to block out some space in your diary for the 22nd to 25th January for the 2012 show at Dublin's RDS Exhibition Centre.

Showcase Ireland is the country’s premier creative exhibition show and a window into the current trends and fashions in knitwear, crafts, interiors, jewellery and gifts. The show is a unique insight and showcases many items that cannot be found at any other exhibition or show of this kind, with many items being one-offs, or only available to a very small market at any other time.

The show has been running for nearly 40 years and in 2012 will attract over 350 of Ireland’s foremost manufacturers, designers and crafts people from across the country. Not only will there be exhibits of various items, but also an opportunity to experience the rich and diverse heritage and tradition still prevalent in Irish culture today. This is highlighted in the Creative Island section of the show, made up of 85 talented Irish artisans, including nearly 30 new exhibitors, exhibiting crafts showing the essence of Ireland. All of these exclusive items have been ‘Imagined, Designed and Made in Ireland’.

Other sections of the exhibition include the Irish Fashion Show, an insight into the amazing and unique fashions and designers from around the country. There is also the Trends area displaying standout items that will be on sale in the next 12 months and the New Enterprise zone highlighting small and unique businesses from the 15 counties of Ireland. Finally there is the Top 50 New Products, a ceremony awarding the best items on show, and allowing a fast track way to locate them.

2012 Exhibitions Spotlight: Irish beauty Show

There are many excellent shows planned for 2012 in Ireland and I am looking forward once again to meeting many old friends from the business world in Dublin and across Ireland over the course of this year, at these shows.

One show I certainly plan to attend once again is the annual Irish Beauty Show. Considered to be Ireland’s most prestigious event for the health and beauty trade, the Irish Beauty Show is returning in the middle of March 2012 to the Royal Dublin Society exhibition halls. This event is a great opportunity for Irish salon, spa owners and managers, therapists and technicians to promote their services. The same business owners will have a chance to gain an insight into the newest innovations taking place in the Irish health and beauty industry and to also talk with related companies and service providers from the EU and worldwide.

For those attending the show, the event means a great chance to take advantage of a wide range of exclusive deals and discounts which are available at the show. The event will host an exhibition of market leading beauty suppliers and the best training providers and by visiting these stands, you will be able to gain access to many of these offers. As well Associated Irish
Therapists there are over 100 different companies on show at the exhibition including Pro Impressions, Faces Cosmetics, Blackchurch Leisure, French Cosmetic Distributors, Virginie Claire, En Vogue Nails and Posh International.

The interactive demonstration area is also worth stopping by to see if you have the opportunity. Some of the industry’s leading educators and practitioners in the industry will be giving presentations and this is a great chance to learn many things relating to beauty and health.

The event is held in partnership with Irish Beauty Magazine and Associated Irish Therapists and open to any of the industry’s professionals or students studying towards a beauty qualification. Not only is there the opportunity to gain knowledge about the latest information and news from within the industry, but a chance also to be present at the Irish Beauty Awards show which is part of the beauty show. You can learn more from the official Irish Beauty Show website. For exhibitors, you can still buy exhibition stands online for the event.

Low cost flight options to Dublin, Ireland

Many companies these days are cutting costs and the recent news that Ryanair are planning reserve seating as part of their effort to attract an even higher percentage of business travellers, is testament to the way in which many companies are reducing costs in any way they can. Below a quick look at the best lower cost flight options for those of you flying in and out of Dublin, for exhibitions or on business.

Ryanair - Ryanair are now one of the leading airlines in the world in terms of passenger numbers per year. Ryanair are both loved and hated by people, given that they often offer the lowest prices but also the most basic of service and with additional costs for anything extra. Watch out also for the out of the way destination airports when travelling with the airline. When arriving in Dublin, Ryanair use Dublin International , the same as the other main airlines and this makes it a good option for inbound flights. Ryanair flies to countless destinations around Europe and makes Dublin accessible from all over the continent. It is important when looking at flight prices to factor in the extra costs, including the need to pay extra for luggage, although as a businessman, if you can travelling with carry-on luggage only, this is not an issue.

Aer Lingus - As a flag carrier for Ireland, Aer Lingus often offers special deals to cities mainly in the UK and U.S. to and from Dublin. For business visitors from the United States, Aer Lingus are certainly worth checking first. One advantage also with flying with Aer Lingus is that the airline has the rare privilege as far as budget airlines are concerned of flying to and from Heathrow in London.

BMIBaby - This is a budget airline of British origin which has been flying to Dublin from airports around the UK as well as from certain airports around Europe for many years. Whilst this airline does not offer the same number of flights to Dublin, it is stil worth checking.

It is important to remember that by entering flight details into a comparison website you can easily find flight options from all budget airlines. One site worth checking is SkyScanner.net.
