Continuing on the theme of history, you should definitely visit the cathedral and castle which are located close to each other in the centre of the city. The castle is such an important place is Dublin’s history and a visit here will help you to understand so much of the country’s development, including the independence from Britain.
In order to make sure that you see the best of Dublin in your one day visit I would recommend taking a tour. You can either jump on one of the many tour buses or partake in a walking tour such as those led by Trinity College.
